KYO 26: Khaela Maricich: Look For It In The Sky It Will Always Be There; CD 10$
Pre-the Blow, Pre-Get the Hell Out of the Way of the Volcano, Khaela crafts lovely songs and works words around themselves like nobody's business. Don't serenade her answering machine or you might end up on her next album.

KYO 31: Captain Fathom: Discordpatheos; CD 10$
Original project of Karl Blau and Jacob Navarro or Spoonshine. Music made to dance with your shoes off.

KYO32: D+: Dandelion Seeds: CD 12$
Backwoods socialists arm the beavers and remove festering slivers, both physical and philosophical, with their trusty old pocketknifes. Their second album.

KYO 33: Nate Ashley: Where Matter Lives; CD 10$
Nate Ashley bares his soul on his debut release and makes us all feel better for doing so. There are several songs on here that make us cry, but in a good way. A personal favorite of all of us here at KYO.

KYO36: Nate Ashley: Darling I'm Your Devil; CD 10$
Nate delves into wierder and more varied instrumentation on this his second release, but still sings songs that make your heart purr. Recorded in Portland, Anacortes, and Olympia.

KYO38: the gift machine: "sooner or later or not"; CD 10$
The really beautiful stuff, you can’t explain, you just have to experience. And that’s what's going on here. We could tell you about the psychedelic guitar sounds, the arrangements, the sad yet optimistic tone of the vocals, how it’s just loaded w/...more

KYO41: Nathaniel C. Ashley: The Dead Lover's Benevolent Return-Motion Picture Soundtrack: CD $10
The long out of print European film soundtrack back in stock for the new millenium. Nate made us watch so many horror movies when he was recording this that we started having nightmares. This is beautiful music to dream by, though.

KYO51: D+: Mistake; CD $10
Some people say that the American Communist Party would still be going strong if they had had D+ playing those summer camp shows instead of Paul Robeson. You know, for the kids. While it’s a nice thought, and while we've heard that Karl can do a good version of Ol’ Man River, wedon’t know if it would have worked. And we're not just referring to the time travel aspect. ...more

KYO53: The DJ Brothers: Squeeze Box and Piano; CD
Glen is our resident spiritual leader. He started the Business, KYO Headquarters, in 1977. Here he plays piano with his older brother John on accordian. Both were born in Kentucky, sons of a Protestant preacher. Recorded by Dave of the gift machine, KYO gets Lomaxian and documents some old hymns altered as only the DJ brothers could do it.

KYO54: the gift machine: ...don't turn me off; CD $10

KYO55: The Sweetest Wave: A KNW-YR-OWN Compilation; CD $10
We got so many great submissions for our Shipwreck Day CD that we decided to make another compilation. This is not the left over table scrabs, but an equal successor to the Shipwreck compilation. We might even like it better. Go 69 across!...more

KYO57: Amigo: S/T; CD $8
When we were younger we used to think the song "Space Cowboy" by Steve Miller was pretty OK. Now in our older, more jaded years, we are not so sure. But Brian Malloy, mastermind of Amigo, is the real deal "space cowboy" (Like, OK....). This is music to mask maraude the cosmos by, and god knows we can't keep Brian in one place. For fans of Grandaddy, Sparklehorse, etc., this features Karl Blau, Dave from the gift machine, Nate Ashley, Jake from Spoonshine, and host of other Anacortes regulars.

KYO58 Karl Blau: Clothes Your I's; CD $10
The first edition came in some hippy purses that Karl had sewed together. The second edition came in a sleeve made out of record sleeves w/ a xeroxed drawing of an apparently pregnant mermaid. We’re now soliciting this cd again in a special edition. It comes complete w/ ...more

KYO59 Sandman: The Long Ride Home; CD $10
Sometimes Montana, sometimes Olympia, sometimes Nashville "rapping cowboy" Chris Sand, a.k.a. Sandman, rides through town taking pot shots at modern society. He's got good aim. On this release he's less rapping and more philosophizin' and prophesizin' with his guitar. A Woody Guthrie for the new millenium.

KYO60 Nate Ashley: Darker Corners of Your Heart; CD $10
For the last few years, Nate Ashley has been a man of two personalities music wise: heart rendering and soulful songwriting, and more varied and experimental soundtrack scores. Finally, with "the Dark Corners of Your Heart" these two alter egos have mutated into one powerful beast and the results are astounding. The songs are still gorgeous, but there is a complexity and originality to the arrangements that you don't find in most of today's music. Guaranteed to clean out the cobwebs in the hardest of people and places.

KYO61 D+: Deception Pass; CD
If the first two albums showed us the non-bearded, clean shaven Bret, then this one and Mistake show us the bearded Bret. We're guessing they all grew beards for this one. Maybe you will too. The fact is, there’s some serious beardage going on here. It’s like the three wise men have arrived at the half way house on their bicycles, with some guitar that they probably got at the Soroptomist back in ‘89, and now they’re going to serenade you.

KYO62 Dame Dulce; Sun Comes into the Kitchen CD
If you’ve ever faked a urinalysis test so that you could get a job working w/ the developmentally disabled, if you’ve ever tried to impress someone by writing a screenplay for a cop buddy movie starring the two of you, if you’ve ever had a dream where your math professor was Harry Nilsson, ...more

KYO63 Mouseheart Factor: S/T $12 CD
INew old-school Anacortes rockers go prog and get sensitive with a lush, epic, and generally fancy pants production. Featuring James Moffit from Tugboat and self-titled fame, Tim Moffit from Bow Hill, hot pants Tex Strizic from the now defunct Button Happy and everyone's favorite bartender and bus driver Mike Rothmeyer.

KYO64 Amigo: Soft Joint $12 CD
Anacortes, Wa super group lead by southern California spontaneous songster Brian Malloy. Featuring Karl Blau, Dave Matthies of the gift machine, Nate Ashley, and Bronwyn Malloy (aka Holmes). This is such a good album. Wow. You should really own it. Brian is a genius, no doubt about it. Taking over where the 2002's self-titled Amigo album left off, the album is a cowboy ride through space, a psychedelic carnival ride, psycoactive bubblegum, Red Bull Vodka, definetly a trip to somewhere else. It's hard to put something this good into words. Recorded at Vibe Control Studios here in Anacortes.

Burl: S/T $12 CD
Anacortes old schoolers Bryan Elliott and Bobby Vaux of Gravel, the Pounding Serfs, Public Service, the Few, etc. record a new album after a 16 year hiatus. Featuring Flip Elvrum (Phil's Dad) on percussion and recorded at Vibe Control Studio by Dave Matthies. You can almost smell the campfire on this one. Come and sing along.
